The raw performances of unknown boys also capture attention
This is the highly anticipated latest film from director Stephen Daldry, who has consistently portrayed the delicate growth of boys with powerful direction since his first work, 'Billy Elliot'. The screenplay was penned by Richard Curtis, also known for directing films like 'Love Actually'. These two titans of British cinema have joined forces for the first time to create a story about boys who find a 'small glimmer of hope' in a city of despair and bring about a miracle for the entire community.
The three protagonists, who pursue the truth, were chosen through auditions of unknown boys. Having been born and raised in the slums, much like the characters they portray, they breathe vibrant life into their roles despite having no prior acting experience.
Furthermore, the supporting cast is equally compelling, featuring Martin Sheen as an American priest who gently guides children abandoned not only by their families but also by society, and Rooney Mara as Olivia, a young woman who watches over them.
The truth revealed when all mysteries are solved: hope
On the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Three boys who make a living by picking through trash one day find a wallet in a garbage dump. Inside the wallet lies a major secret that could shake the world.
The police launch a massive search for the wallet, throwing the city into chaos. However, the boys resolve to uncover the wallet's hidden secrets, choosing the path they believe to be right.
Evading the relentless pursuit of the police and using their wits to get closer to the truth, the boys' quest for truth, which they risk their lives for, eventually transforms into hope that saves the entire city.
