Life's vibrant energy pours from the screen like sunshine.

The production team behind Danny Boyle's masterpiece "Trainspotting" reunites for "Sunshine on Leith." Set in the perpetually overcast Scottish town of Leith, the film tells the story of people who, though struggling with life's challenges, hold onto hope for tomorrow and live each day to the fullest.

The songs that fill the film and celebrate life are the beloved hits of Scotland's national band, The Proclaimers. The main theme, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," with its catchy melody and lyrics of pure love, was also a hit as the theme song for "A Home at the End of the World," starring Johnny Depp.



The cast features acclaimed actors such as Scotland's own Peter Mullan and Jane Horrocks, who was nominated for a BAFTA and Golden Globe for "Little Voice."

Can a fractured family find its way back to each other?

Rob and Jean, a couple living in Leith, Scotland, are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Their son Davy and daughter Liz's boyfriend Ally return from military service in Afghanistan, filling the household with celebratory cheer. However, at the silver anniversary party, attended by relatives and friends, an unexpected crisis strikes the family: Rob's secret child, now 24 years old, is revealed.

Meanwhile, Liz, who has been proposed to by Ally, and Davy, who has started a new life with his partner, both stand at a crossroads in their lives. What event will bring this troubled, fractured family back together?
