Cate Blanchett Wins Academy Award for Best Actress

In his latest film, 'Blue Jasmine,' Woody Allen shifts dramatically from his usual romantic comedies like 'Midnight in Paris,' meticulously portraying the downfall of a woman and the intricate workings of her mind.

The film contrasts the heroine's glamorous 'past,' built on vanity and pride, with her painfully tragic 'present,' all while observing the fate of a celebrity who has plunged into despair with a chillingly detached gaze.

Cate Blanchett takes on the lead role. Her haunting performance, embodying Jasmine's fragility and sorrow as she descends, earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress at the 86th Academy Awards. The supporting cast includes a host of distinctive, talented actors such as Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins, and Peter Sarsgaard. The classic song 'Blue Moon' is used as an insert song, symbolizing the heroine.

Jasmine Falls to the Depths of Life

A woman named Jasmine arrives at a San Francisco airport. Her life, once the toast of New York's celebrity circles, collapses overnight. Having lost her handsome husband, her fortune, and everything else, Jasmine seeks refuge in her down-to-earth sister's apartment to start anew. However, unable to forget her past glory and exhausted by unfamiliar work and studies, she begins to lose her mental balance.

Eventually, when she hits rock bottom, Jasmine meets an ideal single man from the elite and plots to return to high society, but.
