Talk Sessions with Directors
Held for the first time this year, the Green Image International Environmental Film Festival is a cinematic event designed to foster contemplation of the global environment through outstanding films centered on nature and culture.
Ten films were selected from 103 submissions from 27 countries and regions, hailing from Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan.
The subjects explored are diverse, including organic farming nurtured in satoyama landscapes, oceans transforming due to acidification and development, initiatives for a sustainable future, traditions and human connections passed down through generations, radioactive contamination, and inquiries into the very definition of affluence.
Additionally, as a special program, screenings and talk sessions will be held under the themes of "From Local Discoveries to Adventure" and "Forests - Forest Kindergartens & Woody Biomass."
Furthermore, throughout the festival, symposia will bring together a variety of guests—including filmmakers, adventurers, activists promoting the use of local, renewable energy and wood pellets, and professionals in outdoor and early childhood education—to discuss the wonders of nature and environmental issues. The event poses questions about the various challenges facing contemporary society through the medium of film.
