In 1985, there was a cowboy who risked everything to smuggle unapproved HIV alternative treatments into the country, ensuring American HIV patients could access life-saving medication. Dallas Buyers Club is a drama based on the true story of this man, Ron Woodroof.


Popular actor Matthew McConaughey stars as the protagonist, Ron. He underwent a 21-kilogram weight loss to embody the character, delivering a performance of immense power. In 1985, rodeo cowboy Ron is diagnosed with HIV and given only 30 days to live. Driven by a desperate will to survive, he begins an intensive study of AIDS. He is shocked by the limited availability of approved drugs in the US. Seeking alternative treatments, he travels to Mexico and conceives of smuggling. There, he meets Rayon, a transgender woman, and together they establish the "Dallas Buyers Club," an underground distribution network. As this pioneering organization rapidly gains momentum, the law begins to close in on Ron.
