Director Chang Rong-ji, Admired by Wong Kar-wai

Director Chang Rong-ji's 2008 short film, The End of the Tunnel (Black Sky), won the Best Short Film award at the Taipei Film Festival. Wong Kar-wai, deeply moved by this short film depicting the life of a young blind pianist, served as executive producer for this feature film adaptation.

The story is based on the true experiences of Huang Yu-hsiang, who is active as a professional pianist, and he himself delivers a remarkable performance as the protagonist. An Encounter with a Girl Chasing Her Dance Dreams Brings Light into His Life

Yu-hsiang, blind since birth, possesses an extraordinary talent for piano. However, a traumatic incident at a competition during his childhood has left him unable to perform on stage.

His mother, who has watched over him, decides to send him to a music university in Taipei, hoping he can build a career in music and become independent. The challenges of living in the city away from his family and the barriers between him and his sighted classmates fill him with uncertainty, leading to anxious days.
