'Everyday' beautifully portrays the preciousness of "love" and "time"—elements we often take for granted—through the daily lives of a fatherless family.



The young siblings featured are four real brothers and sisters discovered by director Michael Winterbottom. Filming began when they were 8, 6, 4, and 3 years old, and their growth over five years is etched onto the screen.

By meticulously detailing the period leading up to the father's return, the film reminds us that the seemingly unremarkable days passing by are, in fact, the accumulation of our most precious time.

Siblings Stephanie, Robert, Shaun, and Katrina eat cereal every morning and go to school. Their mother, Karen, works at a supermarket after dropping them off and also works shifts at a pub in the evenings. It's an ordinary life, except for one thing: their father is absent. He is in prison, and they can only see him during brief visiting hours. Seasons change, the children grow, and time relentlessly moves forward.—.
