'Reborn for My 49 Days' is a heartwarming masterpiece that depicts the journey of a family grappling with emotional wounds, contemplating their lives, and moving towards renewal, all through the "recipes for living a happy life" left behind by their deceased mother.

Hiromi Nagasaku plays the daughter who suddenly lost her mother and failed to ask her about important things. Renji Ishibashi plays the father, who couldn't convey what was important. The cast also includes a new generation of acclaimed actors such as Masaki Okada, Fumi Nikaido, Taizo Harada, and Keiko Awaji, unfolding a delicate human drama.

The iconic Hawaiian lament 'Aloha ʻoe,' a song of remembrance that plays a crucial role in the "Grand Feast for the 49th Day" scene, is performed by singer-songwriter Yuko Ando. She has written new Japanese lyrics and sings with a gentle voice, enveloping the story.

From Loss to Renewal: A Family's Journey

Otomi, the mother of the Atsuta family, suddenly passes away. Her husband, Ryohei, is devastated. Their daughter, Yuriko, returns home, ostensibly to care for her worried father, but in reality, she is fleeing problems with her own husband.

Around this time, a mysterious girl named Imo and a young Japanese-Brazilian man named Haru appear before Ryohei and Yuriko. Imo, who claims to have been asked by the late Otomi to look after the remaining family, informs them that Otomi left behind a "recipe" and that her wish was not for a memorial service, but for a grand feast on the 49th day. Thus begins a peculiar cohabitation of four people as they approach the "Grand Feast for the 49th Day.".

We hope you will witness the protagonists begin their path to renewal as they embrace the profound love their mother left behind, within the unique Japanese cultural context of the "49th day."
