Released in Japan to coincide with the "third anniversary"
In the summer of 1995, production staff working on a TV series exploring the origins of the personal computer managed to secure a seemingly miraculous interview with Steve Jobs, who was known for his aversion to the media and interviews. Only a small portion of this interview was used in the program, and the unedited 1-inch tape master was lost somewhere.
Then, in 2011. After Jobs' death, director Paul Sen coincidentally discovered a VHS tape containing the interview footage in his garage. It was restored and converted to HD, bringing Steve Jobs' solo interview back to life for the first time in 18 years. In the United States, Apple and Jobs fans alike flocked to theaters for this precious footage, which is finally being released in Japan.
Words from the man who continuously created "the future"
Jobs, who had left Apple in 1985, is interviewed as the CEO of his new company, "NeXT." He speaks with witty and candid words about his own life, the creation of Apple Computer, Apple itself, and the future of computers and culture.
By the end of the year following this interview, Jobs returned to Apple. Two years later, the first iMac was released, and three years after that, the first iPod. He continued to create a new era. What future did Jobs envision through his eyes?
