Set in Hokkaido After the Meiji Restoration
'Unforgiven,' hailed as the 'last Western' and winner of four Academy Awards including Best Picture, is reborn as a Japanese film this autumn. The story is set in Hokkaido after the Meiji Restoration, depicted on a grand scale. This cinematic masterpiece, destined for film history, finds new life.
The director is Lee Sang-il, known for 'Villain' and 'Hula Girls.' Just as Eastwood, moved by Kurosawa's 'Yojimbo,' starred in 'A Fistful of Dollars' and breathed new life into a legendary work, director Lee, captivated by Eastwood's 'Unforgiven,' has infused it with a fresh spirit.
The cast brings together Japan's leading actors, including Ken Watanabe, Akira Emoto, and Koichi Sato. The ensemble is further bolstered by rising talents Yuya Yagira and Shiori Kutsuna, alongside the uncompromising performances of Eiko Koike and Kunimura Jun.

However, an old associate, Kingo, arrives with news of a bounty. Standing in their way is Ichizo, the absolute ruler of the town.
When the man draws his sword once more, a weapon he swore never to touch again, for his own sake—The clash of souls, a spectacular scene that commands unwavering attention.
