The 66th Cannes Film FestivalHirokazu Kore-eda's 'Like Father, Like Son,' which was officially selected for the competition section and won the Jury Prize, will be released on September 28 (Saturday). Furthermore, a special advance screening will be held for four days, from September 24 (Tuesday) to 27 (Friday), prior to the official release.

Hirokazu Kore-eda, internationally renowned for films such as 'Nobody Knows' (2004), will finally release 'Like Father, Like Son' in Japan, a story depicting two families who encounter a child swap.

Masaharu Fukuyama, also popular as a musician, plays the protagonist who, despite leading a seemingly perfect life, struggles and grows after discovering his child was swapped at birth. This marks his first appearance in a Kore-eda film. The cast also includes accomplished and distinctive actors such as Machiko Ono, Lily Franky, and Yoko Maki.

Education, career, family. Ryota believed he had achieved everything through his own abilities and was a winner in life. However, one day, he receives a call from the hospital revealing that the son he has raised for six years was swapped at birth with another couple's child.

Blood or the time spent together?──Faced with the ultimate choice, the two families confront their reality. Ryota grapples with his thoughts and struggles about fatherhood. In this era, Hirokazu Kore-eda explores the meaning of love, bonds, and family.
