Cast and Crew Reunite from the Oscar-Winning 'The Secret in Their Eyes'

The 2009 Argentine film 'The Secret in Their Eyes,' which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and garnered significant attention, has inspired a new suspenseful human drama. 'El Secreto de sus Ojos,' brought together by the same cast and crew who captivated the world, has now arrived in Japan.



The lead role is played by Viggo Mortensen, known for his portrayal of Aragorn in 'The Lord of the Rings' series. Returning to Argentina, a place he considers a second home where he spent his childhood, Mortensen delivers a fluent Spanish performance as both Agustín, a doctor, and Pedro, his twin brother who has fallen into a life of crime.




Ana Piterbarg, who also penned the original story and screenplay, makes her feature directorial debut with this film. She crafts a unique suspense narrative about a man who kills his twin brother to start a new life.

Where Lies and Truth, Fate and Destiny Intertwine

Agustín, a doctor living a prosperous life with his wife in Buenos Aires, is plagued by a sense of emptiness. One day, his identical twin brother, Pedro, who he hasn't heard from in a long time, appears and reveals he has terminal cancer. He then pleads, 'Kill me.'



Agustín is bewildered by the sudden request. However, a certain incident leads him to actually kill Pedro. Agustín decides to fake his own death and live life as 'Pedro.' Returning to the Delta region where he spent his childhood, he becomes entangled in the dark world Pedro was involved in.──.




Agustín's wife harbors doubts about her husband's death. His childhood friend regards him with suspicion as he lives as 'Pedro.' A woman who captures his heart. In a world where he has erased his own traces, lies and truth, fate and destiny intertwine. What awaits him at the end?
