Opening Film: François Ozon's Latest, "In the House"

The French Film Festival has been held annually since 1993. Last year, "The Intouchables," which opened the festival, won the Audience Award and went on to become a major box office hit during its theatrical release. The festival is a much-anticipated event, presenting a lineup of notable and new films.

The festival is also known for attracting distinguished guests each year. This year's festival president is actress Nathalie Baye, a muse to masters like François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. She will attend alongside her film, "Laurence Anyways." Also expected are familiar faces from French cinema, including directors Jean-François Sivadier, François Ozon, and Ernst Umhauer, as well as other actors.

François Ozon's latest, "In the House," a thrilling psychological drama where a private tutoring session between a high school literature teacher and a gifted student devolves into a tense mind game, will be the opening film.

Also featured is "Laurence Anyways," a poignant love story spanning a decade by director Xavier Dolan, who garnered attention with three films at the Cannes Film Festival at the young age of 23. The festival will screen a diverse selection of 14 films, including romances, comedies, historical dramas, thrillers, and short films.

These four days offer an immersion into the charm of French cinema.
