Newcomer Rachel Mwanza, playing the 'witch,' received the Silver Bear at Berlin

'War Witch,' a film Kim Nguyen conceived for 10 years after being shocked by the issue of child soldiers in Africa, stars Rachel Mwanza, a new talent discovered by the director himself on the streets. She brilliantly portrays both the fierce dignity of carrying a machine gun and the tender vulnerability of a girl in love, earning her the Silver Bear at last year's Berlin International Film Festival.
