Organ Transplants: The Gift of Life

Born in 1972 to a Japanese mother and a German father, twins Annabel and Isabel were diagnosed with CF. Their daily lives were filled with arduous therapies, including chest percussion, and they endured repeated hospitalizations, breathing difficulties, and lung infections. Yet, they supported each other through it all, growing into adulthood. Eventually, the day came when their lungs could no longer function.

Their salvation came in the form of new lungs through organ transplantation. This gift of life enabled them to pursue activities previously impossible, such as hiking and swimming. Their journey didn't stop there; they became advocates, sharing their experiences with CF and the critical importance of organ donation, inspiring countless people with their courage and hope.
