Kang Dong-won, Who Passionately Portrayed an Intelligence Crime Investigator, Visits Japan!
Director Jo Ui-seok, known for "Cold Eyes," took the helm, inspired by the "Cho Hee-pal fraud case" that sent shockwaves across South Korea. This film sharply cuts into the darkness of modern society, exploring themes of "fraud," "multi-level marketing," "bribery," and "corruption." Large-scale location shooting was also conducted in the Philippines, where the latter half of the story unfolds, making this a highly anticipated work.
Chairman Jin (Lee Byung-hun) of the financial investment company, using his natural charisma and eloquence to gather large sums of money from clients, systematically bankrupts the company and flees abroad. Detective Kim (Kang Dong-won) of the intelligence crime investigation unit forms a team by enlisting the help of genius hacker Park (Kim Woo-bin), Jin's close associate. As they track his movements, news suddenly breaks that Jin's body has been found dead in a foreign country...
Kang Dong-won, the popular young actor who passionately portrayed the intelligent investigator relentlessly pursuing Chairman Jin as he began a new fraud business in Southeast Asia, holding his own against Lee Byung-hun, visited Japan ahead of the release of "MASTER" and attended an opening ceremony stage greeting at TOHO Cinemas Ueno in Tokyo on November 6th (Monday).
Kang Dong-won, who gained 10kg for this role and underwent boxing training for several months prior to filming to build a robust physique, walked through the audience before taking the stage and greeted them in Japanese, saying, "It's been a while." Amidst enthusiastic cheers from female fans, he candidly discussed episodes from the filming where he sustained a major injury, his co-stars, and his future prospects, promoting the film and receiving thunderous applause.
