Director J.J. Abrams, a Devoted Star Wars Fan, and His Meticulous Production Team

The Star Wars series, which redefined cinema upon its debut in 1977, has seen six films released to date. Kathleen Kennedy, producer and newly appointed co-chair of Lucasfilm (founded by George Lucas in 1971), commented, "The central theme of this film is a "family saga," a story of "love and loss" passed down through generations." She also highlighted that "women" are a key element, unlike in previous installments, with three powerful female characters set to appear.
