Text by KAJII Makoto (OPENERS)
The biggest buzz of 2012. A film adaptation of Kyoko Okazaki's legendary comic!
Erika Sawajiri plays Ririko, who climbs to the top as a star in the entertainment industry. While basking in the envious gaze of others, she harbors a "ultimate secret" she can tell no one.—.
The poster visual was shot by Mika Ninagawa herself, also known as a world-renowned photographer. The blue butterfly resting on Ririko's hand symbolizes the fragility of a chrysalis transforming into a butterfly, and Ririko's own journey as she emerges beautifully radiant after her chrysalis period to soar in the entertainment world. This visual, an original creation for the film, features a vibrant butterfly that encapsulates the "hyper-colored entertainment" world crafted by Mika Ninagawa.
Furthermore, the tagline "I'll show you what you want to see" is a line spoken by Ririko, expressing her strong individuality as she navigates the chaotic entertainment industry, and her ambition and momentum to deliver an experience to the audience in every sense of the word.
<STORY>
I'm not satisfied! One day, I'll scream.—Ririko, who ascends to become a top star shining in the entertainment world, a realm steeped in desires for beauty, fame, money, and love.
"The only original parts left are my bones, eyeballs, hair, ears, and my lady parts. Everything else is artificial."
Adorned with artificial beauty through full-body cosmetic surgery, Ririko races through a world swirling with desire. What is the truth behind the "incidents" Ririko causes? Where will she arrive at the end of her journey?
