A Stellar Supporting Cast, Including Ryo Kase and Kirin Kiki

Director Hirokazu Kore-eda, known for "Like Father, Like Son," which won the Jury Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival,Like Father, Like Sonand "Nobody Knows," presents his latest film, "Our Little Sister." Set in Kamakura, the film depicts the fresh and authentic bonds of four sisters and their poignant yet gentle interactions with the town's people.

This film adaptation of Akimi Yoshida's popular comic, which won the "Manga Taisho 2013" award and the Excellence Prize at the 11th Japan Media Arts Festival, brings together today's most radiant actresses. Haruka Ayase plays the eldest sister, Masami Nagasawa the second, Kaho the third, and Suzu Hirose as their half-sister, the fourth. Three Sisters Welcome Their Half-Sister Suzu

Three sisters living in Kamakura receive news of their father's death, who left them 15 years prior. At the funeral, the three sisters meet their half-sister, Suzu. Suzu's mother, who took away the sisters' father, has already passed away, and as Suzu, a middle schooler, is supported by her stepmother, the eldest sister, Sachi, invites her, saying, "Won't you come live with us?"

Suzu, the fourth sister, joins the lives of the three sisters: Sachi, the dependable eldest; Yoshino, the free-spirited second; and Chika, the easygoing third. The four share seasonal meals, discussing their individual worries and joys. However, when the sisters' mother, who had remarried and lost contact, appears for their grandmother's seventh anniversary memorial service, a rift forms in their seemingly peaceful lives...

This is a story of four sisters who deepen their bonds by hurting each other amidst the colorful four seasons of Kamakura, ultimately becoming a true family. It is a world that only Director Kore-eda, who has depicted various forms of family in works like "Nobody Knows" and "Like Father, Like Son," could create.
