Asia's Largest Short Film Festival, Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2015
The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2015, Asia's largest international short film festival originating in Japan, will be held from June 4 (Thursday) to 14 (Sunday) in Tokyo and Yokohama. This year, a curated selection of globally anticipated short films will be screened.

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2015, an Academy Awards-accredited international short film festival and Asia's largest, is headed by actor Tetsuya Bessho.
This, the 17th iteration of the festival, runs from June 4 (Thursday) to June 14 (Sunday), coinciding with "Short Film Day," recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association.
This year's festival will screen approximately 200 films, including entries in the Official Competition vying for the Grand Prix, as well as selections in the CG Animation and Music Short categories. Among the highlights this year isthe film that won the Jury Prize at last year's Cannes Film Festivaland is hailed as a "savior of cinema."Xavier Dolan“Mirror,” which Dolan starred in at the age of 15.
Also featured areEddie Redmayneand "Hollywood Portfolio," featuring 44 British actors including Eddie Redmayne and Keira Knightley; "The Big Picture," starring Kirsten Dunst; and "Blue Season," starring Daisy Ridley, who was chosen as the heroine for the latest Star Wars film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," scheduled for release in December.

Throughout the festival, a variety of other events will be held. Ian Hunter, who worked on "Interstellar," winner of this year's Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, will visit Japan to host seminars on the latest VFX technology. Additionally, creator seminars featuring popular YouTubers and other engaging events are scheduled.Interstellarwill be held. Festival director Tetsuya Bessho describes the world of short films as one that "offers us a rich sensibility through the passion of creators, conveyed alongside the diversity of short films gathered from around the globe."
