Set in New York, this documentary follows seven madames over 60 who have established their own unique styles as they've aged. The documentary, "Advanced Style: The Documentary," will be released nationwide starting Friday, May 29th, at TOHO Cinemas Chanter & Shinjuku and other theaters.

Their Lives Reflected Through Unique Fashion
The fashion blog "Advanced Style" was started in 2008 by Ari Seth Cohen. This blog, featuring fashion snapshots of women over 60 strutting through the streets of New York, garnered attention for its senior-focused perspective and highly individual styles, leading to a surge in traffic. It became a major topic in the fashion industry, with a photo book compiling the blog's content published in 2012.
Based on this popular blog, the film spent four years closely following seven madames living in New York. Among them are 62-year-old Zipora Salamon, who cycles around Manhattan; 80-year-old Joyce Carpati, known for her elegantly braided silver hair; and 93-year-old renowned painter Ilona Royce Smithkin, famous for her false eyelashes made from her own orange hair. The film features fashion-conscious madames ranging from 65 to 95 years old.
The camera meticulously captures their seven distinct fashion philosophies, underpinned by their long lives, the miracles that occurred in their lives after meeting Cohen, and the encroaching presence of death.
The director is Lina Plioplyte, who has previously worked on campaign visuals for top brands such as "Coach" and "Tod's." She has been involved with the "Advanced Style" blog project since its inception, and this marks her feature-length directorial debut.
These seven madames continue to refine their personal styles, unconcerned with age or superficial beauty. Their powerful presence, living stylishly always and forever, is a must-see.
