Tracing back to the very origins of its ingredients and focusing on the factory's background, "immuno" is meticulously dedicated to the environment of both skin and planet. Part 1 | BEAUTY
immuno | The Essence of Nature
“If it’s just organic cosmetics following the same approach as other companies, there’s no point in making them,” says Miki Miyashita, who has been involved in the development of immuno, a natural cosmetics brand with its own unique standards. The brand meticulously traces ingredients back to their origins and prioritizes the factory's environmental impact. Even their packaging is designed with the utmost consideration for the global environment. We delved into Miyashita’s passion for protecting both skin and planetary health, which drives the development of immuno, a brand at the forefront of natural cosmetics.

In recent years, the beauty industry has seen a significant shift, influenced by trends like sustainability, organic practices, and the SDGs. Many brands now position themselves as "natural." immuno is one such brand. While many organic cosmetics focus on product efficacy and ingredients, we spoke with Miki Miyashita, who oversees development, about immuno's unique approach that extends beyond the product itself.
“Organic cosmetics have evolved from those primarily featuring organically grown ingredients to 'clean beauty' products that use sustainable materials and consider environmental impact. For immuno, our focus was on achieving excellent usability as a functional cosmetic, backed by dermatological evidence, effectiveness, and results. In essence, we call it 'functional clean beauty.' Simply changing ingredients, switching from European sources to those found in remote Chinese mountains, or just going organic, doesn't represent true innovation. That was our starting point. Beyond ingredient refinement, we believed that addressing 'user experience' and 'anti-aging' was crucial to defining our brand, Premier Anti-Aging.”
This dedication stems from a desire to create products that truly satisfy users.
“By addressing customer concerns and imbuing each item with specific functionalities, we aim to create products that users will cherish for a long time. We believe the benefits of this approach are substantial.”
Anti-Aging for Both People and the Planet
immuno takes a multi-faceted approach, not only for the skin but also for the environment.
Under the banner of "YES! for the Oceans," immuno participates in the Ministry of the Environment's "Plastic Smart Campaign." Initiatives include the active use of recycled and biomass plastics, container lightweighting, and the exclusion of UV absorbers. Furthermore, with "YES! for the Land," the brand employs environmentally conscious materials such as bagasse paper and FSC-certified resources, utilizes waterless printing, and forgoes instruction manuals and sealing stickers, striving to minimize packaging materials.
“We advocate for ‘anti-aging for both people and the planet.’ For people, we aim for anti-aging through functional benefits that address concerns like wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging. For the planet, our product development is driven by a desire to restore it to its state from ten or twenty years ago. Our commitment extends to factory selection; we prioritize locations surrounded by rich natural environments that contribute to the Earth's rejuvenation. The factory we partnered with is nestled at the foot of the Ou Mountains, enveloped by natural forests and beside a clear stream. A key feature is its fully equipped bio-research facility. We also focused on the water itself. The purified groundwater from the highlands, used as the lifeblood of our cosmetics, is 100% mineral water. Furthermore, our wastewater is treated in an on-site purification facility, returning it to a clean state and minimizing environmental impact.”
In our approach for skin health, we adhere to "NO! for Skin," completely excluding parabens, mineral oils, petroleum-based synthetic surfactants, alcohol, synthetic polymers, synthetic fragrances, and synthetic colorants.
Furthermore, we stimulate Langerhans cells in the skin's immunity with the immune vitamin, LPS (lipopolysaccharide). Yeast-derived β-glucan then protects these cells, enhancing their anti-aging effects. By boosting skin immunity, we activate the inherent power of skin cells. Additionally, organic and natural ingredients fortify the skin against damage.
Covering the environment, skin, and human health—this meticulous dedication reflects a commitment to creating truly authentic products.
In the second part, we will delve deeper into the origins that shape immuno.
