Series: Wa-kyo Wa-raku | Part 38: Saké no Mise Hayashi Wants to Convey 'The Scenery Seen Through the Bottle'
There must be a bottle out there, waiting for you to discover it.
Sake no Mise Hayashi: Sharing the 'Scenery Beyond the Bottle'
Towering cumulonimbus clouds fill the sky. Listen closely, and you can hear the incessant chirping of cicadas, while before you flows a stream of pure, freshly sprung water.──Alcohol is a 'product of the earth,' born from the blessings of the heavens and sun, and the efforts of people. We aim to convey the human sentiments and landscapes that lie behind it, and so we run a select shop focusing on Japanese sake.

Pure Water: Bringing the Winds of Hokuriku, a Premier Rice-Growing Region, to You
The Fukui Haruyama store, which opened in the spring of 2009, was given the subtitle 'SAKE Atelier.' This is the Japanese translation of that concept.
Blue sky is high, leaves sway in the wind, the smell of earth in the sunshine,
Brow wet with perspiration, muddy fingers, simple & friendly smile...
The bottle, there is a scene in their mind.
From liquor, you can feel the thoughts of beautiful nature and peoples mind.
This is delicious liquor shops collect from around the country.
A high, blue sky, leaves swaying in the wind, the scent of the earth in the sunshine...
A brow wet with sweat, muddy fingers, a simple, unpretentious, honest smile...
Beyond the bottle lies a landscape, the hearts of people.
Within each cup, nature's bounty and the brewer's passion are infused.
This is a select shop for fine sake, carefully curated from across the country.
There must be a bottle out there, waiting for you to discover it. Why not come and seek that wonderful encounter? We will help you explore a new world you never knew existed.
And there's another taste of Fukui we'd like you to know: 'Echizen Oroshi Soba,' a culinary tradition inseparable from Nihonshu – the experience of enjoying a drink at a soba restaurant.
The city of Echizen, where the main branch of 'Echizen Sake no Mise Hayashi' is located, is also the birthplace of Echizen Oroshi Soba, with a history spanning 400 years. What makes this soba unique is its method of serving grated daikon radish not as a condiment, but as a broth, setting it apart from other oroshi soba. The flavor and texture of the greenish, glossy soba, combined with the intensely pungent daikon, are deeply ingrained in the palate of Fukui residents.
Many people travel to Fukui specifically for the 'soba.' When you visit, please be sure to stop by 'Echizen Sake no Mise Hayashi' as well.
