A Fusion of a Rose Specialty Shop, Where Clothing and Roses Converge
NEMIKA, a new concept store for women who know true quality and shine with radiance. The name 'NEMIKA' embodies the meaning 'to take root, bear fruit, and bloom.'
The store's direction was overseen by Masamichi Toyama of Smiles, known for projects like 'Soup Stock Tokyo' and 'PASS THE BATON.' The spatial design was led by SANDWICH, with artist Kohei Nawa as director, and art direction by Ryohei Kigi and Yoshie Watanabe of KIGI.
The interior design expresses the relationship between soil and water, essential for roots, fruits, and flowers to grow. Fixtures are designed with water as a motif, and textures evoking soil are used in openings cut into the wooden ceiling.
Another distinctive feature of NEMIKA is its integration with 'Rose Gallery,' a rare rose specialty shop in Japan. The idea is that the presence of both clothing and roses will be accentuated within a space composed of soft, enveloping curves. To achieve this, all interior walls are hand-drawn. Stepping inside, one is transported to a world entirely different from what the exterior suggests.
The merchandise is composed of an equal mix of select imported items and original creations.
The original items feature timeless, basic pieces crafted from high-quality materials. The select items include brands such as Agnona, Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Jason Wu, and Maurizio Pecoraro.
