Wild Flora and Furnishings Harmonize to Create a Relaxing, Verdant Oasis
"INDISPENSABLE STRASBURGO," which opened in April this year at Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C., represents a new facet of "Strasburgo." It offers a curated selection of lifestyle-enriching treasures from around the world, including not only apparel but also books, bicycles, organic cosmetics, and art, proposing a lifestyle that is both organic and ethical.
The newly launched "Urban Garden" is inspired by New York's "High Line," a park developed on the site of an abandoned elevated freight railway line. Wildflower installations, evoking the vibrant energy of the "High Line," are placed throughout the store.
Nobuaki Kawahara of the young floral design studio "REN" is responsible for this installation. Kawahara pursues a primal floral design that harmonizes with both materials and the environment. He is a notable figure whose future endeavors are highly anticipated, having been the first florist and floral designer to receive the Good Design Award in 2011.
The space, where wild grasses and flowers naturally blend with the interior as if they had always grown there, creates an atmosphere that invites a deep breath. It promises to be a true sanctuary for adults amidst the urban bustle.
