Original Peekaboo Bags Up for Auction
For this project, 10 of Britain's most iconic women have each created a unique design for Fendi's signature Peekaboo bag. These creations are on display at the new flagship store on New Bond Street from Friday, May 2nd, and are also available for auction via a dedicated page on fendi.com. The auction runs until 6:00 PM GMT on Saturday, May 30th. All proceeds will be donated in full to Kids Company, a charity based in London and Bristol.
The participating luminaries include artist Tracey Emin, singer Adele, actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomie Harris, models Cara Delevingne and Jerry Hall with her daughter Georgia May Jagger, architect Zaha Hadid, fashion illustrator Tanya Ling, and journalist Kate Adie – a total of 10 women.
Kids Company is a volunteer organization that provides practical, emotional, and educational support to children in deprived areas of the UK. Founder Camila Batmanghelidjh commented, "For many children, a mother's bag is a source of joy, filled with happy things. However, for children who have been hurt and traumatized, it can become a source of fear and despair. This time, Fendi's friends and kind supporters have come together to create bags. The proceeds will be used to help children who have suffered indignities regain their dignity."
