Founded in 1996 by Chan Luu, who was born in Vietnam and is now based in Los Angeles, Chan Luu is an accessories brand bearing her name. Her accessories, inspired by diverse cultures and nature, are favored by people of all genders. Building on the sustainable initiatives the brand has pursued since its inception, Chan Luu has launched a new collection, "Ethical Fashion International," as part of a project spearheaded by the UN's International Trade Centre.

The "Ethical Fashion Initiative," promoted by the UN and the International Trade Centre, operates under the theme "NOT CHARITY, JUST WORK." It aims to empower individuals in impoverished regions by providing training and employment, enabling them to escape poverty with dignity through their own efforts. Spearheaded by Chief Technical Advisor Simone Cipriani, this project has garnered participation from renowned brands, including Chan Luu.

Chan Luu expresses immense trust in Simone Cipriani, the driving force behind this collection, stating, "Without his efforts to create the right environment, it would not have been possible to launch products that can compete on a global scale." She describes their meeting as "a destined encounter, as if we were meant to meet."

The "Ethical Fashion International" collection by Chan Luu features two distinct lines: the "Haiti Collection," utilizing unique paper beads crafted by artisans affected by the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and the "African Collection," showcasing the exquisite beadwork skills of artisans in Africa, primarily the Maasai people of Nairobi, Kenya.

Barneys New York Ginza, the first to present these two collections, welcomed Chan Luu and Simone Cipriani on June 7th. The following day, June 8th, Chan Luu herself was present at the store, hosting trunk shows to introduce the products to visitors, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

"Ethical fashion plays an active role in making the world a better place. For me, it is a mission to provide dignity and a sustainable support system for artisans around the world who need work," says Chan Luu.

This collection beautifully merges the craftsmanship of artisans from Haiti and Africa with Chan Luu's distinctive style. It's definitely worth checking out!
