Must-See: Unique Objects Embodying the Maison's Spirit
Petit h is an experimental laboratory of ideas where artists, designers, diverse materials, and artisans from different métiers (departments) converge to create original and playful objects. It was born in 2010 from the passionate vision of Pascal Mussard, a sixth-generation member of the Hermès family, who grew up surrounded by various materials and the skills of artisans.
Petit h, with its atelier on the outskirts of Paris and a permanent exhibition at the Sèvres store on the Left Bank, also holds limited-time exhibitions worldwide. This exhibition, following the one in Tokyo this past April, is held at the beautiful Japanese garden "Shosei-en," moving beyond the Hermès boutique at Takashimaya Kyoto. As with the Tokyo exhibition, graphic designer Kazunali Hattori is responsible for the spatial design. The exhibition showcases a unique collection born from the encounter of creative ideas and craftsmanship, breathing life into materials. Special objects created exclusively for this event will also be featured.
Pascal Mussard, Artistic Director of petit h, comments: "Petit h connects the various materials cherished by the Maison and explores new ones. These poetic and innovative objects are born from the dialogue between artists, designers, and artisans. It is an alchemy created by the characteristics, spirit, and techniques of the Maison's diverse métiers."
