The 18-meter-wide front window and the approximately 465 square meter open interior are characterized by exposed structural elements and blue aluminum that emits beautiful reflected light.──In the space, originally used as a bank, original furniture and fixtures by Tokujin Yoshioka have been installed, creating an environment where history and the future intersect.

Tokujin Yoshioka speaks about the shop's design:

"Humans yearn for two kinds of time: the future that is yet to be seen, and the ancient history that has been cultivated over a long period.

The new flagship store for ISSEY MIYAKE, which opened on Brook Street in London, expresses this through the contrast between textures perfected over time and the futuristic blue-dyed aluminum, reminiscent of fabric.

The very concept of fusing technology and craftsmanship, much like ISSEY MIYAKE's approach to creation, is reflected in the design of the flagship store."
