Red Wing Boots Reimagined by Hiroshi Fujiwara Appear in a Custom Design Closest to His Original

Details Recreated to Match Hiroshi Fujiwara's 90s Custom #8176 Model
Red Wing and Fragment Design have collaborated. A special model, recreating the boots Hiroshi Fujiwara customized in the 90s to great acclaim, is now available.

Available in Two Styles: Moc Toe and Round Toe
In the mid-1990s, Hiroshi Fujiwara ignited a trend with a 6-inch moc toe boot featuring a black upper, white traction sole, and red sole.
The boom began when Fujiwara introduced '#8176' in a magazine – a moc toe boot that originally only came with a black Vibram sole, but which he uniquely customized with a white sole.
The inquiries for this custom model poured in, leading to the creation of '#8179', a model combining black leather with a white sole, as a special Japanese order project at the time.
'#8179', which garnered significant attention upon its release, subsequently became a staple model for Red Wing and remains a bestseller to this day.
Now, Red Wing and Fragment Design, the design team led by Hiroshi Fujiwara, have collaborated. Boots featuring details close to Fujiwara's original custom model '#8176' have arrived.
The black chrome leather, white traction sole, and red sole of the moc toe remain, with a modification to the welt: the storm welt, used on '#8176', is now black.
Additionally, the sides are stamped with the double name "RED WING・FRAGMENT". Both the Irish Setter tag and the Fragment tag are placed on the inner side of the right boot's tongue.
In Red Wing's history, this marks the first time the brand name has been partially displayed on the upper. This detail strongly conveys the special sentiment behind this model's creation.
The toe area, which typically features contrast stitching, is rendered in black. This enhances the elegant impression and creates a cohesive look.
A round toe version in black chrome is also available with the same specifications. Compared to the moc toe, its defining feature is its rounded silhouette.
