Aiming for the widespread adoption of organic cotton

Organic cotton is cotton grown on farmland that has not used any pesticides or chemical fertilizers for at least three years. As demand for organic cotton increases, it is expected to lead to improvements in conventional cotton farming methods, which raise concerns about soil pollution and environmental issues.

However, organic cotton currently accounts for only about 1% of the cotton produced globally. To foster a natural increase in demand for organic cotton, orgabits recommends and sells products that use 10% or more organic cotton purchased from Toyoshima under the 'orgabits®' brand.

The 'Atelier Élémentaire Présent Project' by orgabits

The 'Atelier Élémentaire Présent' was established in 1990 in Ise-Shima, Mie Prefecture, and Setagaya Ward, Tokyo. Approximately 50 artists with Down syndrome, ranging in age from 5 to 33, attend the atelier and engage in creative activities, primarily painting. The project aims to capture the unique sensibility common among individuals with Down syndrome from an artistic perspective, create an environment where they can freely produce artworks according to their inspiration, and share these creations with society.

The 'Atelier Élémentaire Présent Project,' launched in 2011, is a support initiative that orgabits has continuously undertaken. In the past, they have collaborated with various fashion brands to plan original items and donated a portion of the sales to fund the operations of Atelier Élémentaire Présent.

The partner for this season is 'FRAPBOIS.' They will be releasing items such as T-shirts and bags that combine FRAPBOIS's designs, made with orgabits cotton, with the vibrant graphics created by Atelier Élémentaire Présent. These spring/summer items will be available in a wide range, including men's, women's, and kids' sizes.
