Focus on the Beautiful Color Palette of the Gradient Series

──What was the theme/concept for the 2013 Spring/Summer collection?

It was "Cuba."

──Could you tell us more about the theme/concept?

We created this collection inspired by Cuba's spirit of independence, its scenery, music, and more, incorporating elements like military looks, Cuban shirts, double-breasted jackets, and gradients evoking the sea and sun.

The reversible series expresses Cuba's duality: the front features a relaxed silk linen, reminiscent of Buena Vista Social Club, while the back uses camouflage.

While the overall palette is vibrant and the materials have a relaxed feel, we used plain-weave oxford for fabrics like silk cotton, resulting in a collection that also incorporates traditional elements.

──What are the key looks (outfits)?

It's a look featuring a denim setup with a denim coat. The shirt, pants, and coat all have pintuck details found on Cuban shirts, which I believe directly embodies Cuba through fashion.

──What are the key items?

The gradient series. Each piece is hand-dyed by artisans. The yellow, orange, and blue all turned out beautifully. While there are slight variations in each piece due to the hand-dyeing process, this adds a wonderful character.

──What are the key colors?

The gradient yellow, orange, and blue. They were created with the sea and sky in mind.

──Do you have a message for your fans?

This collection features a very beautiful color palette. We hope you'll come to the stores and experience it firsthand.
