Latest collection focuses on "people who work at sea"
──What is the theme/concept for the 2013 Spring/Summer collection?
"the ropes." In English, it means the way of doing things, knack, or secret.
──Please tell us about the theme/concept.
"The ropes" refers to everything from the essential knots sailors must learn to the knowledge and skills needed for various tasks. This collection focuses on "people who work at sea" such as U.S. Navy sailors, fishermen, and ship engineers, and is developed with a focus on casual wear and workwear.
While paying close attention to the unique details and sewing specifications of each item, we've achieved Vista's signature transparent impression through monochromatic expressions and material combinations. Centered around the brand color navy, we've added accents with heather gray, natural leather, and embroidery that directly evokes the word "rope," to prevent the collection from becoming monotonous.
We've incorporated materials into the designs, considering both sensory appeal and long-term functionality. This includes cotton with a unique texture from Hamamatsu, a renowned cotton weaving region in Japan, as well as highly functional materials.
──What are the key looks (coordinations)?
A knit designed to be layered over a shirt, and a shirt layering style. It features meaningful details, such as buttons on the cuffs that can be fastened.
──What are the key items?
A T-shirt featuring the word "NAVY" rendered in cross-stitch embroidery.
──What is the key color?
Navy is used throughout, in various textures. Among these, the cardigan made of thick indigo waffle fabric will develop a beautiful patina over time.
─Which designers/brands are you paying attention to?
Vintage clothing, etc.
──A message to your fans.
I will continue to research and strive to propose attractive items.
