A Celebration of Hidehiko Mikomo's Life

"We want to make this an incredible party with a huge gathering of the people who livened up Magazine House in the 80s and 90s," says Hiroshi Ozawa, who served as Mr. Mikomo's assistant about 30 years ago.

"Back then, I would follow Mr. Mikomo, who was energetically active every day, from the POPEYE editorial department in the morning to the newly opened 'TOOLS BAR' late at night. Later, Mr. Mikomo moved to the shores of Lake Suwa in Nagano Prefecture several years ago. In his later years, he pursued more niche activities, such as poetry readings and creating collage art using stickers," Ozawa recalls.

He continues, "Mr. Mikomo connected with people of all generations without any barriers. We want this memorial party to be a gathering where everyone connects through Mr. Mikomo. On Saturday, September 26th, we will recreate the 'TOOLS BAR' of that era to bring back the vibrant, positive spirit of Mr. Mikomo, and we've asked those who were close to him to DJ."

The party, aiming to "positively send off the energetic and slightly lonely Mr. Mikomo," is expected to draw many who are now shaping the fashion industry. We encourage you to invite friends and join us.
