Adopting the Breadfruit Pattern, a Tribute to Hawaii's Verdant Beauty

Sig Zane is an artist based in Hilo, Hawaii Island. He presents handcrafted works themed around the beauty, inspiration, and life found in nature, conveying Hawaiian traditions and culture through his art. His work extends to designing the livery for Hawaiian Airlines and the elevator hall at Louis Vuitton in Ala Moana Center. His vision has also inspired like-minded individuals to launch the fashion brand "FOREST CLOUD." He is also the owner and designer of "Sig Zane," a renowned aloha shirt shop in downtown Hilo, Hawaii Island.

This collection for UNITED ARROWS was born from a fusion of Hawaiian culture and Japanese traditional techniques. It features items printed with a design inspired by the breadfruit tree, a motif also familiar in Hawaiian quilting. Named "Uluwehi Keaukaha," this pattern depicts the breadfruit leaf motif rendered through an etching process.


The collection includes a three-button jacket and trousers set-up, as well as a baseball shirt featuring the same pattern. A key detail is the proposal of a baseball shirt as an alternative to a basic long-sleeved shirt for innerwear. Additionally, the lineup features a bucket hat in collaboration with "KIJIMA TAKAYUKI," a leading Japanese hat brand, and sandals created in partnership with "Island Slipper," one of the few brands that has maintained its "Made in Hawaii" ethos since its inception.



Also featured is a band-collar shirt printed with a Hawaiian-style palm tree motif. Crafted from comfortable Oxford fabric that looks good even when casually worn, it can be worn throughout the year. This collection will be available in mid-May at all UNITED ARROWS stores nationwide and online.
