Discover Sneakers in a Fictional City

“KICK THE CITY,” which features a concrete-like floor evoking an urban landscape, presents sneakers selected from the imagery of Los Angeles (to the right), New York (straight ahead), London (to the left), and Paris, with visuals of each city as the backdrop.

As you view the sneakers alongside videos that reflect the styling of each city, the distinct fashion sensibilities of each metropolis begin to emerge.

Why No Brand Logos?

The buyer in charge at Isetan explains, “The absence of brand logos is intentional, as we want customers to view these sneakers as ‘shoes’ from the perspective of Isetan Men’s styling. This is different from a typical pop-up store focused on limited editions.”

Representing “Los Angeles = Outdoor/Vintage,” Converse offers its rare, made-in-Japan “ALL STAR” from 1980, crafted with a last that fits Japanese foot shapes.



Furthermore, the selection is curated to match each city's taste: New York for contemporary, Paris for high street, and London for classic. By stripping away overt athletic elements, these sneakers are presented as ‘styling items.’

“KICK THE CITY”: Defining Isetan Men’s Sneakers

This feature highlights Converse for Los Angeles, ASICS for New York, Adidas “Stan Smith” for London, and Puma for Paris. The sneakers, neatly arranged mirroring the display on the men's shoe floor in the B1 level, mark the first chapter of “KICK THE CITY.” Anticipation is high for the second installment of “KICK THE CITY,” scheduled to launch on April 22nd (Wednesday).
