Limited Edition ayame OCEANS 100th Issue Commemorative Model on Sale

For this exhibition, sunglasses and optical frames in a special "OCEANS Blue" colorway of the popular "NEWOLD" model, created by ayame to commemorate the 100th issue of OCEANS magazine, will be sold exclusively at Continuer in the Kanto region.

The commemorative limited model is a special order color of "NEWOLD," a masterpiece that has continued since ayame's first collection. The classic Boston shape is updated with a modern touch, creating an original design. The tortoiseshell pattern, a blend of black, gray, and blue inspired by "OCEANS BLUE," lends a cool expression.

Symbolic of the brand's philosophy of "learning from the past to inform the future," the balanced proportions of the rounded form and its mid-size make it a versatile model, suitable for both optical wear and sunglasses.

Designer Mr. Imaizumi's Favorite: "Photochromic Lenses for Eyeglasses"

Photochromic lenses change color depending on the amount of UV light. They darken outdoors where UV rays are strong and become clearer indoors where UV rays are weak. The beauty industry even states that "sunburn can occur through the eyes," making sunglasses essential during seasons with high UV exposure. Photochromic lenses, which adjust their tint based on UV levels, offer exceptional usability.

The "photochromic lenses for eyeglasses," now officially handled by Continuer starting with this exhibition, are manufactured by the renowned lens maker "Kodak." Compared to previous photochromic lenses, these offer faster color changes – both from clear to tinted and back to clear – making them highly functional. Designer Mr. Imaizumi of ayame is also a fan.

Embrace the world of ayame, an eyewear brand constantly moving forward, with these photochromic lenses, perfect for those who wish to reduce the need to remove or switch eyewear between indoors and outdoors.
