Japanese Design, Global Release
The reissue of the Stan Smith is major news for the fashion world in the first half of 2014. To coincide with this reissue, the "Consortium STAN SMITH Collaboration Pack" series, featuring premium leather Stan Smiths as a base and collaborations with five designers and brands, is now drawing intense attention. This model, the fourth installment, was released globally on March 8, 2014. The design was handled by Shigeki Fujishiro, a product designer based in Tokyo.
Fujishiro focused on the three perforated lines on the Stan Smith used for ventilation. By threading colored laces through these holes, various shapes and patterns are created on both sides of the shoe. The gold and pastel-colored lace patterns are enhanced by the pure white upper, a design that resonates with Fujishiro's own product aesthetic.
The tongue features a glossy gray "Endorsed by Stan Smith" logo, and the side panels of the shoe bear the "STAN SMITH PLAY" logo. As the name suggests, this is a new Stan Smith brimming with playfulness. Why not adorn your feet with them this spring?
