FUJITO | Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
FUJITO
Expressing this season's mood through materials and colors
The latest collection with a more relaxed atmosphere
"We shot this at our new store, which opened in spring 2013. We focused on items like cut-and-sew setups that you'd want to wear while relaxing at home, to help people imagine them as everyday wear," says designer Go Fujito, discussing this season's lookbook shoot. Relaxed items are key throughout the collection.

Focus on the look featuring the beige coach jacket
――What is the theme/concept for the 2014 Spring/Summer collection?
This collection has a more relaxed feel than any previous FUJITO collection. You can feel the season through materials like the pale green cut-and-sew pieces with overdyed processing, and the linen check and stripe shirts.
The glossy setup suit has a playful touch within its classic design, and the simple blouson features FUJITO's signature details in its slightly forward-set sleeves and ribbed cuffs and hem. While all the items are simple, we hope you'll try them on and experience their comfort.
――What are the differences in styling, silhouette, and color compared to last year's Spring/Summer collection?
The underlying atmosphere remains fundamentally unchanged. Within that, I believe we were able to express this season's mood through materials and colors. The collection may feature more relaxed items this season.
――What is this season's key look (coordination)?
It's the look featuring the beige coach jacket. We want you to enjoy the glossy material in this refreshing coordination, unified in pale tones.
Holding a joint exhibition "thought" at the end of March
――What are the key items and key colors?
The key color is green. I think a light, pale green is ideal. It's a sophisticated green, rather than earthy.
For key items in early spring, it's the G9 blouson and the coach jacket. The coach jacket, made from lightweight nylon by Italy's Limonta, has a silhouette that's immediately striking when worn. We hope you'll appreciate FUJITO's signature details, such as the gently curved collar line.
――What materials did you focus on this season?
For shirts, we've used a lot of linen. I love materials that evoke the season, like linen in summer and wool in winter. The pile shawl jacket is also light and has a soft feel.
――Please tell us about your personal goals for 2014, both professionally and privately.
In March this year, we will hold a joint exhibition called "thought" (http://www.thght.jp/) in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, a town known for its pottery. Approximately 35 brands, mainly active in Kyushu, will participate. Of course, FUJITO will also exhibit. It will be a diverse exhibition featuring everything from apparel and jewelry to pottery, woodwork, and furniture. We aim to promote this exhibition so that people from all over Japan will visit. First and foremost, we want this joint exhibition to be a success.
