2013-14 Autumn/Winter Theme: "Warm You Up"

Wear warm clothes and move forward.

Regarding this season's lookbook shoot, Pester designer Mieko Nomoto says, "We're mixing various items so they can be worn in multiple ways, not just as sets. For the shoot, I really rely on my trusted team." We're eager to see the combinations of items that focus on the warmth unique to autumn and winter.

"Knitwear" that excels in warmth and enhances the wearer.

What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?

The theme is "Warm You Up." We've collaborated with domestic knit factories to create original patterns for fisherman's knit, jacquard knit, and brushed knit. These are structured not just as knitwear, but as clothing. "Knitwear" that is not only shaped well but also excels in warmth and enhances the wearer. Wearing Pester's clothing means feeling warm and moving forward with renewed purpose.

What were the key points you focused on for this season's lookbook shoot, and what should people pay attention to?

We're mixing various items so they can be worn in multiple ways, not just as sets. These are purely looks! We don't compromise the clothing with atmosphere, movement, background, or makeup! It's a shame you can't see the back or side views. The back lines are beautiful, and the silhouettes make legs look longer.
For the shoot, I really rely on my trusted team.

What is the key look (coordination) this season?

It's a coordination featuring a Chesterfield coat and a mountain parka. The Chesterfield coat offers a stable, flattering silhouette, which is characteristic of Pester, while the mountain parka, in contrast, is designed with ample room for functionality and warmth (using premium down, it requires no inner layer). Although the details aren't fully visible in the look, I believe the fabric patterns and textures will delight the wearer.

We want you to appreciate our solid and reliable garment construction.

What are the key items and key colors?

"Navy" – a tone that doesn't clash with any item or coordination, but rather enhances smartness, suitable for both dressy and casual occasions.
"Gray" – for autumn and winter, we use gray to complement navy, adding warmth, rather than using white which would detract from it.

What "materials" did you focus on this season?

Fisherman knit patterns and three-dimensionality, yarn selection for jacquard knit, hand-brushed knit, water-repellent silk, camouflage patterns, nylon with embossed textures, jacquard wool expressing leopard print with three-dimensionality, and soft-to-the-touch Spanish lamb, among others.

What is the most rewarding part of being a designer?

The moment I see the finished product images during shoots with my trusted team – stylist Maruyama, photographer Hashimoto, hair and makeup artist Ueda, art director Kogai, the models, and the assistants helping with the shoot – is when I feel most rewarded for doing this work.
Also, when drafting patterns, seeing beautiful flowing lines, well-fitting armholes, and creating elegant spaces. During fittings, observing the ease of arm movement, the way the collar falls, the appearance of the back and shoulders, and the overall balance confirms that the pattern is successful.
As you'll see when you hold them, we've achieved solid, reliable garment construction while remaining grounded in our work.

A message to your fans.
