Styling evokes a free spirit inspired by Cuba
Debut collection themed "Habana Libre"
The debut collection from new brand "so far" is themed around Cuba. Designers Satoshi and Asami Yamane express their enthusiasm, stating, "With HABANABLUE, the key color symbolizing freedom, as our motif, we aim to create a styling that truly embodies the free spirit of Cuba."

Everyday wear for couples, born from a story
──What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
The theme for the first collection, Autumn/Winter 2013-14, is Cuba. It depicts the everyday wear of a couple living in New York, whose parents defected from Cuba to America. They live their lives while paying homage to their ancestral homeland, Cuba, a land they have yet to fully explore.
Characterized by inventive layering and a relaxed feel achieved by dressing down dress items, the collection features pieces incorporating field coat and military details. With HABANABLUE, the key color symbolizing freedom, as our motif, we aim to create a styling that truly embodies the free spirit of Cuba.
──What were the key points and aspects you wanted to highlight in this season's lookbook shoot?
For men's, we focused on styling that casually dressed down three-piece suits (shirt, vest, jacket). For women's, we aimed for a loose, menswear-inspired look, paying attention to accessories.
──What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
The coats are designed for unisex wear, so we'd like people to observe the differences in how men and women style them.
Focus on fully waterproof seam-sealed coats suitable for outdoor wear
──What are the key items and key colors?
Regarding the coats, although they share the same silhouette, variations in fabric, sewing, and factory have resulted in significantly different expressions. Notably, the seam-sealed coat is fully waterproof and can be worn even in outdoor settings. The key colors are yellow and blue.
──What "materials" did you focus on this season?
Burbelly twill. This is a high-density twill woven from 60/2 Supima cotton, treated with a urethane coating to enhance its moisture-permeability and waterproof properties.
──What is the rewarding aspect of being a designer?
We started with the simple desire to create and wear what we ourselves want to wear. The joy of seeing patterns and specifications come to life as tangible garments is immense.
──A message to your fans.
The expression of each item changes depending on how it's coordinated. We hope you enjoy creating your own unique styles.
