Licht, who admits to purchasing clothes "moderately every season," arrived in his personal attire: white low-gauge knitwear, black cotton trousers, and a camel Chester coat. Upon viewing the three key items for the store's displays—a cashmere coat from Herno, a shearling coat from Emmeti, and slacks from Incotex—he remarked, "They all seem versatile, so I imagine they can be styled in many ways."

A Cashmere Coat Styled with a Sporty Touch

The first piece selected is a balmacaan coat from Herno, crafted from smooth cashmere with a water-repellent finish. "I feel a sporty approach would best capture the current mood, offering a sense of relaxation," Licht explains. He paired the coat with a pullover hoodie and navy trousers. "Since the cashmere coat is highly insulating, lighter innerwear works well. It also creates a cleaner look." Licht suggests this ensemble, which translates the coat's luxurious quality into everyday wear, is "perfect for a leisurely stroll around Omotesando on a weekend."

The second look features an N-3B jacket in full shearling from Emmeti, paired with a crewneck knit and "Care Label x Sukemasa Tomoki" denim. The key here, Licht notes, is "the royal blue hue of the knit. By introducing a brighter blue into a navy tone-on-tone ensemble, it creates a focal point, adding a touch of vibrancy." He completed the look with white sneakers. "Basic white sneakers are an excellent accessory for achieving an unpretentious feel. They make the overall style appear effortlessly chic," he reveals, sharing a stylist's secret.

Licht observes their tapered silhouette and nuanced pattern, commenting, "These slacks have a comfortably slim line that suits Japanese physiques, making them highly versatile—suitable for everything from business settings to casual jacket styles." For this ensemble, he chose a navy cashmere jacket and a high-gauge white turtleneck.

"Since the trousers feature a check pattern, I opted for solid pieces in the other items to maintain a simple, classic style. While it might seem straightforward at first glance, I've added a subtle touch—a navy pocket square matching the jacket—for those who appreciate the finer details."

Reflecting on his role as fashion director, Licht shares, "I focused on realism in all the styling. While each individual piece is basic, I aimed to incorporate elements that prevent the overall look from appearing too subdued. This delicate balance is crucial for contemporary styling."
