GLOBE SPECS is once again hosting the MUEHLBAUER trunk show, an event that has become an annual tradition since we first introduced the brand to Japan. This year, on Sunday, September 11th, we will present an unprecedented 60 variations, combining the latest Autumn/Winter collection with pieces from the 2012 Spring/Summer season.

Designer Klaus Mühlbauer Visits Japan for Personal Hat Fittings
For one day each year, the eyewear shop GLOBE SPECS transforms into a hat boutique for this trunk show. Customers can freely select their preferred hat style, fabric, material, color, size, and embellishments like ribbons. Designer Klaus Mühlbauer will be on hand to offer personalized recommendations from a designer's perspective.
The collection features primarily new pieces from the 2011-2012 Autumn/Winter season, showcasing a total of 60 styles ranging from casual caps to felt and fur hats, with a selection from the 2012 Spring/Summer collection also planned. The popular 'crushed felt' (felt with a wrinkled finish) from the previous season will return with an expanded range of variations.
Muehlbauer was founded as a hat manufacturer in Vienna in 1903, with Klaus Mühlbauer representing the fourth generation. While his predecessor focused exclusively on women's designs, Klaus revived the men's line upon taking over the brand in 2001, simultaneously initiating international expansion. Today, the brand is favored by celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, and Madonna, and is a popular fixture in prestigious stores worldwide, including Harrods in London, Fred Segal in LA, 10 Corso Como in Milan, and Le Bon Marché in Paris.
A key characteristic of Muehlbauer is that nearly all hats are handcrafted in their own workshop by skilled artisans, allowing design intentions to be directly translated into production. Furthermore, the wooden hat molds passed down through four generations are carefully preserved, enabling the brand to create both traditional hats and contemporary designs infused with new sensibilities and ideas.
Hats ordered will be ready for delivery in time for the start of the hat-wearing season in October. This is an unmissable opportunity to order a hat that perfectly suits your taste.
