Delvaux Unveils the New “Newspaper Bag” for Men
DELVAUX Unveils Highly Anticipated New Arrival
Introducing the Men's "Newspaper Bag"
Delvaux, the Belgian royal warrant holder and esteemed handbag maison founded in 1829, has announced a much-awaited new men's bag.
It's called the "NEWSPAPER BAG." With two loops running through the center, it's designed to hold newspapers or magazines, truly embodying functionality crafted for the businessman. Within Delvaux's signature minimalist design, one can glimpse a European wit.
Under its new director, Bruno Pieters, Delvaux has achieved an even greater degree of refinement. This briefcase, made from supple soft calfskin, exudes a palpable sense of quality and elegance.

The World's Oldest Handbag Maker, Delvaux
Delvaux was founded in 1829, the year before Belgium's independence, making it a long-established bag manufacturer.
Founder Charles Delvaux opened a leather goods shop at 7 Rue de l'Empereur in the heart of Brussels, crafting a wide range of trunks and travel accessories. In 1883, its craftsmanship and quality were recognized with the prestigious royal warrant of appointment to the Belgian court.
In 1933, the company was acquired by Franz Schwennicke, yet the founding principle of "high-quality goods at fair prices" has endured for 180 years to this day.
Crafting Exquisite Leather Goods Solely In-House
Each Delvaux bag is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans.
Creating a single, classic calfskin bag requires approximately six hours, with an annual production limited to just 30,000 pieces.
Delvaux's bags, which can be considered true "works of art," possess a depth and artisanal spirit unattainable through mass production.
The 1829 Men's Line by Bruno Pieters
For the Autumn & Winter 2008 collection, Delvaux commissioned Bruno Pieters, a Belgian talent with a global presence as a designer and fashion director, to create its men's collection under the "Line 1829" banner.
This collaboration with the historic maison allowed the designer to forge a new path.
His designs are impeccably simple yet functional. Pursuing styles suitable for both formal and casual occasions, his creations subtly incorporate Pieters's distinctive touch within clean, precisely constructed designs.
These pieces masterfully blend Delvaux's timeless style of "classic elegance"—rooted in high-quality luxury since its founding—with Pieters's refined aesthetic.
