"Art Wonderland" at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store proposes accessible art for everyday life, centered around the themes of "cherishing things" and "art in daily life."

From top: Lacquered Dry Urushi Crocodile Leather Incense Case ¥97,200, Urushi Varied Lacquer "Reincarnation-python-" ¥475,200, "BEAN STOOL (PINK)" ¥54,000

As part of this initiative, 17 emerging artists have transformed wooden hangers from the renowned high-quality hanger manufacturer "Nakata Hanger" into works of art. Of the 100 pieces in total, 20 are made from items that would normally be discarded due to knots or wood grain, revitalized through art. These pieces are presented as new creations born from the fusion of fashion and art, giving new life to what would have been waste.

Also on display and for sale are "Lacquered Dry Urushi Crocodile Leather Incense Case" and Urushi Varied Lacquer "Reincarnation-python-" by Sasaki Takehito, a young artist who creates forms resembling leather and metal using innovative urushi lacquering techniques. Additionally, the "BEAN STOOL (PINK)," a chair with a bean-like form that highlights the beauty of wood grain, is presented by OGATA Inc., led by interior designer Shinichi Ogata.

We hope to incorporate art into our daily lives by experiencing the free thinking and unique creativity that transcends conventional notions.
