Designer Jaime Hayon Discusses the Background of "Ro™"

"Ro" means tranquility in Danish. The shell, with its simple yet elegant design that is pleasing to both the eye and the body, promises visual and functional serenity. The generous 1.5-seater seat of the "Ro™" transforms moments of relaxation and comfort, whether with a laptop or a newspaper, into something truly precious.

Jaime Hayon

Born in Madrid in 1974, Jaime Hayon is a Spanish artist and designer. His immersion in skateboard culture and graffiti art during his teenage years laid the foundation for his detailed, bold, and sometimes peculiar works that possess an immediate impact. After studying industrial design in Madrid and Paris, he joined Fabrica, a design and communication academy funded by Benetton, in 1997, where he worked alongside the renowned creative director and activist Oliviero Toscani. It wasn't long before he was promoted from student to head of design. Eight years later, Jaime's popularity soared. Beginning with his comical Onion Qee figure collection, his work expanded into ceramics, furniture, interior design, and installations.
