An Elegant Form of Arcs and Straight Lines
The original "TRIC," redesigned by the Castiglioni brothers in 1965, was made of wood with an oak finish. In 2005, the Italian furniture manufacturer BBB released a version made of polycarbonate, which is lighter and easier for mass production, making it a chair suited for modern lifestyles.
Achille Castiglioni began his career as an architect and designer alongside his elder brother, Pier Giacomo. From the 1950s, they focused their unique sensibilities on furniture and lighting design. They continually explored experimental and traditional forms in various fields, from furniture and lighting to urban planning, utilizing the latest technologies and diverse materials, and energetically released numerous works. Notably, rather than asserting their individual personalities as designers, they were committed to expressing design ideas inspired by daily life using ordinary materials, consistently creating with the perspective of the user and inhabitant in mind.
The "TRIC," which combines practical functionality with beautiful proportions and comfortable seating, is an indispensable work when discussing the designs of the Castiglioni brothers. Its long-awaited domestic import and sale has now been decided. We draw your attention to this product, which is as beautiful when folded as it is when in use.
