Richard Hutten, a central figure in Droog Design and known as a catalyst for the Dutch Design boom.
His "Thunderball Light" is a ceiling-mounted fixture inspired by a mass of lightning. The shade is a large single sheet of metal with pre-scored fold lines. The user completes the shape by folding it, making it their own.
Light spills from the gaps in the steel plate, creating a tension and presence akin to an art piece. A hexagonal pyramid-shaped ceiling cover is included, neatly concealing the cable. It pairs well with other products designed by Richard Hutten.
