Artek Tokyo Store, the first directly managed store in Japan for the quintessential Finnish furniture brand Artek, opened in 2019. To celebrate its third anniversary, a host of events are planned from May 18th, including special product releases, in-store installations, and online talks. Here, we introduce a special colorway of the "606 Side Table."

Aino Aalto: Artek's Founder and Architect of its Aesthetic
The theme for "Artek Tokyo 3rd Anniversary" is "Aino Aalto - Beautiful Everyday 'kaunis arki'." Aino Aalto was a pioneer of the "modern woman," excelling as an architect, designer, businesswoman, and mother of two. She developed a unique interior design philosophy that infused modernism's functionalism with softness and comfort. In 1932, she designed the '606 Side Table' for the Paimio Sanatorium project in Finland.
For this third-anniversary event, a special colorway of the same product is being released. The tabletop is based on the gray used in the Paimio Sanatorium's interior (Paimio Grey). We also recommend pairing it with Artek's iconic "Stool 60." Limited to 20 units.
