Organic forms that defy sheet metal, offering users a moment of respite.
Hisakazu Shimizu (S&O DESIGN), a product designer renowned worldwide, develops products that blend usability and beauty using his proprietary 3D design process, "Continuous Design." He has now collaborated with Japan Benex in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, to design "SUITE FURNITURE."

Japan Benex, based in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, engages in various manufacturing activities centered on precision sheet metal processing technology. They have now launched the "EETAL" project to explore the potential of sheet metal. In collaboration with product designer Hisakazu Shimizu, also from Isahaya City, they have released "SUITE FURNITURE," comprising a stool and a side table.
The "SUITE STOOL" has an animal-like presence. Its endearing form is composed of just two steel plates, a mere 2mm thick. Available in a variety of colors, it is sure to find a place in diverse settings. The "SUITE TABLE" features a novel design that combines cuteness with a cool aesthetic. Whether as a bedside table, for working on a laptop on the sofa, or as a display stand, its versatility is evident.
Witnessing how inorganic materials have been transformed into products with organic appeal, loved by a wide range of ages, one can only marvel at Mr. Shimizu's design prowess and the manufacturer's technical skill. Currently on sale at the "REMOTE WORKS @ 21_21 01: Hisakazu Shimizu (S&O DESIGN)" exhibition, held at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT Gallery 3. Why not experience the products firsthand at the venue?
